The National Air and Space Museum is quite literally a nerd's paradise, but it doesn't take a nerd to enjoy it.
Immediately, my mother and I bought tickets to the planetarium show "Journey to the Stars."
There was about an hour before the show started, so my family and I wandered through the replica rockets and astronaut information.
It was fascinating how the exhibit blended the development of technology from both the United States and the Soviet Union.
Next we went through an exhibit that explained the universe and some of its mysteries.
On the upper level there was more information about rockets, and descriptions of the space missions from Mercury to Apollo XVII.
After that, the "Journey to the Stars" was about to start.
The show was great. However, because I study astronomy, I found it rather mundane.
The aviation part of the museum was next, and even though I'm not exceedingly interested in aviation, it was exciting to see the exhibit about Amelia Earhart.
The museum was quite the adventure. I hope that one day I will be able to return.
